There are many ways to learn about and get help with your mindfulness practice. Here are some of my favorite tools to use when my mindfulness practice needs a boost:
APPS
-Headspace: provides hundreds of ‘bite-sized’ guided meditations for busy schedules
-Calm: provides over 100 guided meditations to help you manage anxiety, lower stress, and sleep better
-Buddhify: categorized meditations based on what you’re doing or how you’re feeling
BOOKS
-Happiness: Essential Mindfulness Practices by Thich Nhat Hanh
This book is a collection of author Thich Nhat Hanh’s key practices in learning how to live in the present moment rather than the past or the future.
-A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook by Bob Stahl
This book addresses the fact that stress and pain are an inevitable part of life that can lead us to feelings of irritability, tension, and burnout. Stahl argues that the key to maintaining balance in life is responding to stress with mindful, non-judgmental awareness.
-The Mindful Day: Practical Ways to Find Focus, Calm, and Joy from Morning to Evening by Laurie J. Cameron.
This book is packed with advice and instruction for mindfulness for day and night activities. The step-by-step guide draws on contemplative traditions, modern neuroscience, and leading psychology to bring peace and focus to the home, in the
workplace, and beyond.
PODCASTS
-Tara Brach is a popular meditation teacher who blends Western psychology with Eastern spiritual practices.
-Dan Harris, the author of 10% Happier, hosts this podcast that features enlightening interviews with relevant guests, including bestselling authors, entrepreneurs, meditation teachers, and more.
-Mindfulness Mode by Bruce Langford will allow you to use mindfulness and meditation to become calmer, increase your focus, and live a happier life.
