BREAKFAST WHILE YOU SLEEP

Overnight oats, anyone?

Doesn’t making breakfast while you sleep sound great?

There is nothing more comforting or filling than a bowl of steel-cut oats in the morning, but most  of us don’t have 45 minutes to cook a fresh pot. Enter overnight oats to save the day! And the  best part, you can meal prep them for the whole week!

Try making your own with these basic ingredients:

-1 2/3 cups steel-cut oats

-4 cups of water

-1/4 teaspoon salt

Then choose your favorite additions, like raisins, almonds, milk, cinnamon, fresh berries, jam,  and honey.

You will also want to have five pint-sized jars with lids to store our oats in the refrigerator.  And now to make your delicious oats:

  • Step one: Bring the oats, water, and salt to a boil, and simmer for about 3 minutes then turn off  the heat.

  • Step two: Fill your jars with your oats and additional ingredients. Allow the jars set out  uncovered until they are room temperature before you put on the lids and refrigerate.

  • Step three: In the morning, remove the cap and microwave if you prefer your oats warm, or just  grab a spoon and eat them cold.
